If you feel lazy to move after waking up, stretch your body

You have probably seen animals stretching their bodies after waking up. Have you ever wondered why do they stretch?

During your sleep, most of your muscles stay idle for hours. As a result, all your muscle fluids will accumulate along your back. Your brain will paralyze your muscles to prevent any unwanted movements during your sleep.

This protects you from sleepwalking off the bed. Your blood pressure lowers during your sleep. Due to all these above reasons, you will feel too lazy to move from your bed.

By stretching your muscles, you can make these muscle fluids flow equally back to its usual position. Stretching increases your blood pressure which means more blood circulation to your muscles and brain. This will remove any toxins accumulated in your muscles during your sleep.

So every time you stretch, your muscles stretch beyond their normal range. Stretching is like calibrating your muscles every time to determine its normal range of motion. After stretching, you will feel awake and much easier to move around.
